It's close.
I've been in a better mood recently, most likely because everything seems much better here in light of the fact that I'm leaving in TWELVE DAYS. Holy crap. (I am in no way ready, and I really lucked out that they changed the visa process last-minute.)
This weekend was a good one. I saw "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Superman" - I thought both were good, but that might only be because Meryl Streep is amazing and Brandon Routh is hot. Tonight there were fireworks, probably my last ones in Cville for...a very long time, and then "The Lady and the Highwayman." Seriously - best movie ever. Hugh Grant in a bad wig and a Halloween mask, uttering lines like, "How can I leave now, when I've found my only happiness?" before riding off into the moonlight wearing a big, feathery hat. Swoon.
So now: I have lots of random errands to run before going off to Argentina (eep), and lots more people to see. Hanging out in Ellicott City with Alfiya this weekend and buying random crap was excellent. (Now I have a half-dozen mismatched clip-on earrings, and she has a pair of gloves and a cheese/pickle fork. I'm sure all of this will be very handy someday.) Movies with Noura tomorrow, I believe (to see "Devil" again - the clothes are worth it). And is anyone up for "Pirates" this weekend? Johnny Depp, sea monsters and more big poofy hats are all I need to be entertained.

I saw The Devil Wears Prada too...I liked it a LOT, until the last twenty minutes. At that point I wasn't happy with the overall message...but up until then, I may have just worshipped that movie as one of those rare meaningful chick flicks.
